As the title states, I have never seen any of the Harry Potter movies nor have I read any of the Harry Potter books. There isn’t a reason why I haven’t indulge myself into the Harry Potter fandom other than fantasy is just not my genre. Therefore I never got myself into the books or the movies that doesn’t mean I won’t try in the future, but that time isn’t now. Not being a Harry Potter fan means I have been devoid of everything about the universe, including the Harry Potter houses. Everyone is in one, expect me. I feel left out. The only thing I know about them is their names. No longer being an outsider, I have conducted more research than was probably required in finding out what house I belong in. Here are the results.
Quizzes
Obviously I begun with online quizzes which they are plenty. I took a total of seven quizzes, three from Buzzfeed, one from OctoQuiz, one from ProProfs, one from Brainfall, and the final one coming from Playbuzz. I was not planning on taking that many quizzes, but the results deemed it necessary. See for my first four quizzes, I traded back and forth between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor two times each other. Hufflepuff and Slytherin, both got one a piece, but it was between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. The final quiz gave me a percent of each house I am, and I overall determined to be a Ravenclaw by quizzes.

Zodiac Sign
Unlike with the quizzes, I got a definite answer when it comes to my zodiac sign. I’m an Aries and it didn’t matter what website I searched on Aries and Gryffindor are clearly closely aligned to everyone. Fire signs and Gryffindor are apparently a perfect match for each other. Aries are known to be competitive, bold, and natural leaders much like the Gryffindor house. I wouldn’t say that I am a natural leader, competitive, or bold, but I can’t deny there are some similarities between my sign and the Gryffindor house.
Movie Taste
Using one of my favorites go to websites Letterboxd, users have created lists of films for representing each of the Harry Potter houses inspired by the film’s plots, characters, narrative, or a combination of them all. I took each list into account and picked five of my favorite movies from each of the lists and picking my absolute favorite out of them.
Hufflepuff
- Short Term 12
- Love, Simon
- It’s A Wonderful Life
- Thor Ragnarok
- Fighting With My Family
Slytherin
- The Social Network
- Booksmart
- Game Night
- The Edge of Seventeen
- 10 Things I Hate About You
Gryffindor
- Wonder Woman
- Tangled
- Baby Driver
- Rocky
- The Incredibles
Ravenclaw
- Back To The Future
- Before Sunrise
- Legally Blonde
- Mission Impossible
- La La Land
Okay this harder than I thought it would be. Overall, my favorite selection comes between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. But, if I had to just pick one (which I do) I will have to go with Ravenclaw just for Back to the Future and Before Sunrise alone.
So what did I learn from this nonsensical little test? I am natural born a Gryffindor, but my own personality is more aligned with a Ravenclaw. So, I guess I’m a Ravenclaw? But enough about me, what’s your Harry Potter house and are you happy with it? Why or why not, sound off in the comments.

I haven’t taken the quiz, but at a glance I think my percentages would align with yours. Go Ravenclaw!

I’m also a Ravenclaw. I knew back when I was reading through the books for the first time that I was a Ravenclaw, and that was long before anyone came up with any personality quizzes to sort us. Seeing that list of movies for Ravenclaw that you posted just confirms it. Back to the Future at the top of the list? Considering that’s my favorite movie of all time, I’d say I’m fairly well sorted.
