Things Not Mentioned

Kim Petras may have just released the song of the summer, Malibu. It’s so catchy and even though we can’t spend the summer like most of us would’ve liked, Malibu is a great song to dance to at home.

I have been on a synth-pop kick for a few weeks now and I could probably blame it on discovering A Flock of Seagulls’s Space Age Love Song. I had heard the song in movies but didn’t know the name of the song or the artist…until now.

I listened to 4 albums near the end of the month. Two released in early May, and two released last year that I just now listened to for the first time. All of which I will be playing regularly for here on out. And they are as follows…

I love Charli XCX’s quarantine album How I’m Feeling Now. It’s not just good for being created completely in quarantine, but just really good in general.

Carly Rae Jepsen release a handful of joyful pop music that I and many other desperately needed right now.

I finally listened to Pang by Caroline Polachek. It’s a wonderful album with plenty songs to obsess over, though right now I’m obsessing over the ever so catchy So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings.

And finally, I listened to MAGDALENE by FKA Twigs and it’s as breathtaking of an album as so many people have already talked about. It’s truly is stunning in every way.

Did you discover any new (at least new to you) music this month? If so, share in the comments down below.

  1. “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” is one of my favorites from Caroline Polachek and so is “Clean” by Taylor Swift! Your list has so many great songs and albums on here, I was even so excited to see Carly Rae Jepsen.
