Aries Cinema: Films for Aries Part 2

Last week I posted a blog post that listed movies that I believed featured Aries vibes or characteristics. There were so many movies I found that I had to do a sequel to it. If you didn’t read last week’s post I recommend doing that, but I’ll do another quick rundown of traits Aries possess. Aries are passionate, driven, and usually leaders, thanks to our enthusiastic attitudes and unwavering commitment. We are self-sufficient, inventive, and always known for being forthright and brutally honest. Impatience, impulsivity, and even too truthful are some of our “negative” characteristics. These traits and characteristics show up in following films hence why I have dubbed them Aries films.

Pacific Rim

Pacific Rim is the most Aries movie ever. With the competition aspect, headstrong characters, and good action give off plenty of Aries energy.

Kick-Ass

Fair warning I haven’t seen Kick-Ass, but what I know about it screams something an Aries would love. Everything I ever know about this movie is that it’s chaotic. And if know anything about Aries you should know we are chaotic.

Django Unchained

As I mentioned in my last post, Quentin Tarantino is an Aries, so all his movies could qualify as being an Aries movie. But I think Kill Bill is the clearest one, but Django Unchained would be second. Complete distribution these movies leave in their wake.

Princess Mononoke

Princess Mononoke is another film I haven’t but have been told several times it’s Aries film. I don’t know much about it, but what I do know is that Princess Monome is magical and extremely feminist. And the best Aries are feminists.

Possession

Possession is the weirdest horror movie you will ever watch. I’m not over-exaggerating, I promise. Think the most disturbing movie you have ever seen, well Possession is more disturbing. And Aries really like it.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider

I think of Angelina Jolie as an honorary Aries because of her role as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider films. She’s confident and maybe a little cocky. That description fits many Aries, not me, but a good amount of them.

Goodfellas

I said last week that mob movies have the characteristics that Aries displayed. It’s true. That’s the reason many people are attracted to mob movies. And Goodfellas is the quintessential mobster movie, so it gets a place on the list.

10 Things I Hate About You

10 Things I Hate About You is one of my favorite movies of all time. That alone should deemed it an Aries movie, but if that isn’t enough for you. 10 Things I Hate About You premiered on March 31st, 1999. So it’s an Aries itself which makes all the sense in the world if you have seen it.

Good Time

I could have picked Uncut Gems, but I’m going with the other Safdie directed film. Aries probably won’t leave with the feeling of an anxiety attack, but they will push you out of your comfort zone. Good Time does exactly right.

The Godfather

You know how I mentioned the classic pairing of Aries and mobster movies. And while Goodfellas is the quintessential mob movies, The Godfather isn’t far behind. Aries love it just the same as Goodfellas if not more.

La Haine

La Haine is yet another film I haven’t seen. But the amount of times I have been recommended this when searching online about films that Aries has been insane. Everyone I know who has seen it tells me I would love it, so that must mean all Aries would love it.

Sid & Nancy

If you know anything about the real life story of Sid & Nancy then it shouldn’t be a surprise the movie about their life has been embraced as an Aries movie. Their relationship was tumultuous to say the least and the movie about them isn’t anything different.

Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

Even if you haven’t seen Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! just by the title you should know what movie you are getting into. The title is just as chaotic as the movie is. The movie is also badass and we Aries can’t help but love it for it.

Thoroughbreds

The plot of Thoroughbreds encapsulated perfectly what many Aries want from movies. The plot has murder, strong leads, and humor from not taking itself completely seriously. Just all around a good time and film destined to be a cult classic in the future.

Shazam

Shazam is full of witty humor and that is Aries’s favorite type of humor. It is also super charming. Everyone likes to be charmed, but especially an Aries.

BlacKkKlansman

I wish I could say that Spike Lee is an Aries. He is so close to being one. He was born on March 20th, the dates of an Aries begin on March 21st. So one more day and I could have easily give an explanation for one of his films being on here. In reality BlacKkKlansman, just radiates Aries energy. Dedicated people doing what they to get what they want. Sounds like a Aries to me.

City of God

City of God is a very violent and brutal film to watch. What makes it worth watching if you’re an Aries is because of it’s vibrant visuals and scenery while never becoming glamorized is something an Aries would appreciate about it.

The Red Shoes

The Red Shoes is another visually stunning and captivating. If that isn’t enough to grab an Aries, the impeccable choreography for the dances will finish the job.

I, Tonya

I did not enjoy I, Tonya, but I do recognize where other Aries could enjoy it. It’s sharp and brutally honest to it’s detrimental in my opinion. Some people may say the same thing about Aries themselves.

Snatch

Snatch is a classic movie an Aries would love. Aries are notoriously impatient so they often need fast paced movies to keep their attention, Snatch more than does that. It’s kinda all over in place in a good way though. It’s also funny and full of action. The perfect film for Aries.
