Exciting Announcement

It’s been a minute. My apologies. Let’s catch up.

A reminder of who I am, if you needed it. I’m Dom or Dominique. I started Fairly Professional in February 2019. I was a sophomore in high school who always wanted to create a blog. In fact, this was not my first blog. I created two before finally settling down with this one. Nevertheless, I was always searching for an outlet to get my thoughts (most of them being related to pop culture) out into the world. Needlessly to say, I have very much done that with this blog.

I never expected this blog to be anything more than a passion project. But the site has outgrown from my original ambitions for it, at the same time as I have grown. I am now a junior in college and a published author (shameless plug – my debut novel is out on April 11th). What I originally saw this blog as has changed into something much bigger. Bigger than me. I no longer want Fairly Professional to be just my voice. My voice isn’t the end all – be all. Especially in regards to pop culture.

This is my long winded way of saying, Fairly Professional is expanding.

That is if I find people who want to expand it. Fingers crossed.

I want to find writers who are as obsessed with pop culture as I am and would to express their thoughts on it. Pop culture is vast and every-changing. From the latest blockbusters to underground indie hits, from viral TikTok trends to classic novels, pop culture encompasses a wide range of media that shapes our collective consciousness. Whether we consume it as a form of entertainment, self-expression, or social commentary, pop culture offers a lens through which we can explore our world and connect with others who share our interests and passions. That’s what I want this blog to be going forward.

I’m looking for engaging and well-written pieces about TV shows, movies, books, video games, music, celebrities, fashion, social media, and everything in between.Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just starting out, I want to hear your voice and your perspective on what’s happening in pop culture. Whether you’re passionate about the latest Netflix series or have a unique take on the latest celebrity gossip, I want to read what you have to say. All kinds of articles at any length are welcomed, from reviews to opinion pieces, listicles to deep dives.

All of this sound great so far, right? Well, this next part is not so great. Unfortunately, I’m unable to offer monetary compensation at this time. Believe me, I know. I’m a writer and not being paid for my work is never fun. It’s a deal-breaker for a lot of writers and I completely understand. But if you’re still with me and trust my vision, I believe that with some time (or whenever this author career takes off) I will be able to pay for pieces. Until then, I hope that you’ll consider contributing to my blog for the other benefits it can offer.

You’ll have the opportunity to share your voice and your ideas with a wider audience. Writing for Fairly Professional can be a great way to build your writing portfolio, gain exposure, and connect with other writers and readers who share your interests. Additionally, you’ll be able to include a byline and author bio with your article, which can help to build your brand and increase your visibility as a writer.

If you’re interested in contributing to Fairly Professional, please send your pitches and writing samples to the team at submissions@fairlyprofessional.com. I accept articles on an ongoing basis, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible with feedback and next steps. The future of Fairly Professional is a bright one, and I hope to see new voices who want to join on the ride.
